New acute care patient tower planned for the existing Carolinas Medical Center campus. The 12-story patient tower will have capacity for 448 beds and 38 operating rooms. A new Emergency Department is also planned for the new space. The project requires a significant amount of infrastructure upgrades and relocation of the existing Carolinas Rehabilitation Hospital prior to breaking ground.
